So I understand the sentiment behind this, but watching the Sabres without skinner, they are having a really tough time creating any kind of offense.
On the other hand, they limited Tampa to 0.88 expected goals at even strength last game, and I'm guessing that probably doesn't happen with Skinner on the team.
I suppose if you could replace him with a guy who is at least 75% of what skinner is offensively without the defensive drawbacks that would be ideal. But those guys go for a huge premium. I'd rather they just go back to being a high octane offense that will squeeze more juice out of guys like skinner, at least enough to make them worth hanging on to.
