Necas trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Huge_Caniac_Abe_Lincoln</b></div><div>If Necas is traded for a defenseman I hope it is for a righty not a lefty. There's also no way the Canes pay Guentzel 10/year for 8 years, so if that is his asking price they will just let him walk and re-sign Necas with that money.</div></div>
Imo guentzel is the best thing to happen to the Canes in a very long time. he could easily get less but that's about what your 100 point pace forwards get id imagine

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vinny82</b></div><div>Honestly Sanheim has been pretty useful and reliable this year in most situations and really bounced back after a bad season last year. With what the flyers are trying to do building from the D out I don't see them moving him. I think they look to add on D if anything, not subtract. Bonk and Andrae are still a few years out, they don't want to have to rush those guys and Drysdale isn't ready to shoulder more minutes.</div></div>
risto handled top pairing minutes fine when he was there. over a full season, who knows. maybe not. but sanheim is not apart of the future. getting rid of him is a must and a lot of teams could really use that. overall i think he has been more of a liability for york than an asset. so, not good. post ~november he hasn't been too great

Columbus signed damon severson who is much worse than sanheim to an identical contract as sanheim at the same age i believe. let's not be revisionist here, teams would be willing. a team gave up a fortune for provorov at more AAV for 3 years (yes, not 7) even though he has been terrible for years. cmon, stop that

well it would actually be a first and third, i was wrong. ~40OA and a 2026 2nd + Laughton is about identical. like, i don't think it could get any closer

you're right on both accounts. but I'm not sure lundell wouldn't want a change of scenery though

What leverage does Vegas have? They might get a late-round pick but cap space is scarce. No rebuilder wants that four-year deal, no contender can afford it. Flyers are sort of one of a kind. They'd be willing to make that sacrifice i think

Oh no don't get me wrong Laughton is worth a first by himself. And putting up better numbers than essentially any non-Panarin forward recently, so he's no bum. A third is to get rid of Goodrow. Stanley Cup teams shouldn't be using their buyouts but maybe that's how they roll over in New York. Might explain the lack of success even with a dominant core -- not willing to make sacrifices to win

Who should the jets target tanev vs walker discussion
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howie</b></div><div>Tanev plays a more playoff style game but he may have more suitors as a result. Walker is definitely no slouch either and is more efficient 5v5 has mor sog and hits and good amount of blocks. Way I see it is tanev is an elite pk and block dman but walker is really good in multiple areas but isn't elite but better at more (5v5, offense, physical play, etc). Probably why their price is so similar.</div></div>
Walker is arguably the best PK D in the entire NHL. But that doesn't translate from system to system. Walker is better at pretty much everything but id see why the jets would have wanted someone like tanev more

Definitely a cup level team but without saros they have nobody who can competently start 60 games. play a 1b that much and they get awful results most likely, even at his worst saros is elite

That d group is missing some physicality and nastiness to it. Even though all those guys are studs (although I don't know much about Vlasic). Am I severely underrating him?</div></div>
i'd rather have a defense that keeps the puck out of their net better than anyone than one that hits people and gives up goals ya know what i mean. but that's what desharnais is there for. also jvr is there for the tap in goals set up from mcdavid and kucherov
vlasic is fairly good and hes playing tough mins too

i'd assume the same. honestly i see zegras as a slightly better version of tippett which is why i offered so little (i thought it was too much, actually but i still went that high)
at that point the ducks would hang onto him because no team but the flyers would ever think about giving that up, just because of the unique position of their rebuild

Flyers unrealistic offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jded</b></div><div>He’s absolutely vital. We have a dearth of scoring wingers, and he was one of our best the last 2 years as a 20 and 21 year old. We’d be unloading one of the things we need most.
Even in your example top 6 where you assume we take Demidov and that he pans out, we have a gap exactly where Z fits as a top 6 LW (and on top of that my expectation/hope is that we take Levshunov). Without Demidov, we have 2 huge holes.
On top of that, the value is also short. To be enticing for Z it’d need to be closer to a ~7ishOA ‘24 pick and Bonk. Not a late ‘25 1st and a 3rd.</div></div>
I might have to rethink Konecny's value I suppose. That's the value for him in this economy? Sheesh, they could get so much for Konecny

Flyers unrealistic offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CHAR</b></div><div>For one, there is no reason to think they'll take Demidov. It's more likely they take Levshunov or Silayev IMO.
As to the value, Bonk is a fine piece for Zegras but trying to push the pick to Vegas' 2025 1st is just not appealing. The pick is a year too late and in the wrong half of the round (25+ likely). Philly's first in 2024 would be a must.</div></div>
Why'd they trade Drysdale if they're just going to draft another D over the high upside forwards at that spot? Verbeek confuses me if he's taking Levshunov, ESPECIALLY Silayev since he's another LHD

maybe i worded it poorly but i was more so thinking Demidov/Eiserman and Gauthier made him a luxury
that package makes sense but to be honest if I'm anaheim i stay away from foerster. i don't see him as a first line forward ever but that's what the trade value would be

just so i know is there a specific reason why? obviously he's a good player but if their top six is something like:
Gauthier-Carlsson-Demidov
X-McTavish-Terry
down the line, is Zegras that vital to the team? that's just what i was thinking. if it's the value i totally get that
