I think he's a couple years out, could be wrong, but I can't wait!

Considering he's playing in the OHL this season I think he makes the jump to the AHL playoffs if the eagkes make it. Then hopefully he can do a 10 game test and get sent back if he needs more time

I don't think that's an option. It's OHL, NHL or Euros for Ritchie until he's 20

The AHL path for the Avs is a career killer. He'll be back in junior next year but then, yes, they should sign him and get him NHL time; he has the size, skating and skillset to be a 2C for the Avs.

OHL scoring leaders in points per game -- and remember this is coming off major shoulder surgery:

Yeah, he's been great; Avs should be stoked but they need to have a clear path to him getting to the NHL or they risk wasting him. Going through the AHL hasn't worked well for any Avs picks since Mikko so he should definitely avoid it. If he wants to play against men next season, he should go to Europe and play in the SEL or Liiga. He can't play in the AHL anyhow so it's go back to junior (which is fine) or go to Europe (also fine). Also, the Avs haven't been good about giving young guys a real shot for the past six years or so, preferring vets so I hope they can be patience because if Ritchie can become a 2C, the window stays open a little longer; if there's any young guy they should give a lot of leash to, it's Ritchie.
