Better role management and winning culture

Created by: suora
Team: 2023-24 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 24, 2024
Published: Jan. 24, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
BUF
  1. Cernak, Erik
  2. Cirelli, Anthony
Additional Details:
Both guy's NTCs are kicking in. Cirelli is a great two-way forward, but Tampa needs more offensive talent, as Paul is signed long-term for 3rd C role. Cirelli is a bit expensive with less than 0.5/g average. Buffalo needs a winner who is responsible in both ends.

Cernak has not been at his level this year, and his contract can hurt them as they are so limited with cap space. Getting some assets for future would be great as the team is not really built to win with this narrow core.
TBL
  1. Jokiharju, Henri
  2. Mittelstadt, Casey
  3. 2024 1st round pick (BUF)
  4. 2026 3rd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
They need to extend Mittelstadt, and have to play him in the wing. Jokiharju needs an extension as well, but I feel they need a big defensive defender rather than a puck-mover. Change of a scenery wouldn't hurt.
Tampa would have the cap space to make good UFA signings if they do this.
2.

Why would Edmonton do that? Besides the fact they don't have the cap space. Olofsson doesn't fit in with the Oilers culture, he's an undersized, soft, offense-only perimeter player.

Cirelli's defensive ability makes up for the minimal lack of scoring TB is 5th in the league in goals. His ability to prevent them at a Selke caliber is more valuable than the ,1ppg people seem to be screaming for. If he were a .59 instead of .49 no one would say a damn thing. Way over blown. Jokiharju is more injury prone than Cernak I'm keep the Big guy thanks anyway. TB has the best winning percentage since 12/1 team is coming together. Vasilevskiy will have had an extremely light work load ( by his standards) this season. TB has found out they have a very solid blueline pipeline in Syracuse. They're good.

I would even add to the Tampa deal if need be, we have plenty of sweetener.
