That’s an RD downgrade so easy no for the oilers and also oilers don’t need anymore Bottom 6 forwards we have enough already

Carrier is almost a one-to-one comparable with Ceci but is a notably better puck-mover. This is a price I'd much rather pay for Carrier than the likely first-round ask from Nashville (on that note, I can't see Nashville taking this) but I do take issue with the gap in their TOI. Nashville might accept with the 2024 2nd in the mix instead of the 2025 3rd, but I'm not convinced.

Edmonton has bottom-six pieces in spades sure, but they don't have THAT piece in which Dowd would fill. Edmonton hasn't had a proper #4C since Letestu and I like DR10 as a winger more than I do as a pivot. The issue I take is the volume of assets going back for a #4C and a backup goaltender. Even if Edmonton dropped Savoie and by extension of the 2024 2nd going to Nashville as I suggested above, a first and a third feels heavy.

Carrier is much smaller than Ceci with extremely less playoff experience and I don’t think he’s Ken hollands type of defensemen he would make a trade for.

With a team like Edmonton I wouldn’t be to worried about the 4C position when ur gonna be overplaying the top 2 lines with draisaitl and McDavid

That's entirely too much to pay to WAS. Dowd is worth around a 2nd and I don't think Lindgren warrants more. I'd even be hesitant to pay a 2nd for him given his limited track record, but at least a 2nd would be within the realm of reason.

I also don't imagine that's enough of what NAS would want in exchange for Carrier. If they're trading him, it likely takes a 2nd as the baseline.

NSH declines. No interest in either Ceci or Niemeläinen.

Dowd is arguably the best 4c in the NHL. His D zone starts alone and his defensive play would warrant a 2nd probably a little more. Lindgren ALSO has been a top 5 goalie this year on a fantastic contract WITH term. IMO both are worth a 2nd each or just 1 first round pick. Would work. Rumor is there is A LOT of teams interested in Dowd if he’s made available. Lindgren easily fetches a 2nd from a team like Carolina or TML would need stability in net.
