Why does every Buffalo fan try to trade Samuelsson to the Flyers? We don't need defense, we are in good shape.

Stupid is not bold, it’s just stupid. Just about every one of these trades is either terrible or an overpay for Buffalo.

Not the worst ideas i've seen. Why are you trading samuelsson? I dont understand this sudden need to trade him for nothing. 2 2nd's is nice.but...where are the other 2nd rnd picks on the sabres? Beside peterka who was traded up for at the top of the round. Why bother having them if we're just gonna bury who we pick.
Also i doubt you get some one better than samuelsson and his signed lomg term to reasonable money. He's 23 and frankly performing way better than power so its strange that people are trading him.

This is terrible.

Those 2 2nd round draft picks will probably never play more games combined than Samuelsson. I'll just stop right there. The other trades are even worse.

It's amazing how critical you are of everyone else's GM posts but hardly create any of your own. This is supposed to be a fun board to throw ideas out there. Not even sure who your team is? Yes every GM post I make there is an overpayment by the Sabres because that is the only way they can get decent players to Buffalo. As a fan of over 30 years I know that no good players come to Buffalo as free agents.

Jeff Skinner chose to come to Buffalo via trade, and they really didn’t give up much to get him. Also, recent history says Taylor Hall refutes your claim that no good players sign in Buffalo. It didn’t work out, but he still came here. Sure the last time they got an impact free agent was Jaro Spacek, but eventually they won’t have to settle for busts.

Also, the general idea that a team needs to overpay in trades because players don’t want to go there makes no sense. The trades are negotiated by the teams, not by the players being moved. Even players with no trade or no movement clauses only get to decide if they accept the deal that’s been agreed on, not who or what assets are involved.

Skinner came from a crappy Carolina team and brought him closer to his hometown. He had one year left on his contract. The only reason he is still in Buffalo is because they overpaid him.
Hall only came here because of his relationship had with Krueger. Notice though it was only a 1 year overpayment contract!!

Ralph Krueger tried to drive Jeff Skinner out of town by throwing him on the fourth line, where he couldn’t do anything. The Sabres even asked him if he wanted to leave and he said no, which is why they did not try to trade him (specifically at a loss, and probably absorbing most of his salary) and he is still here. I can’t help but notice that you cannot refute what I said about trades because it’s true. Players have no control over who they are traded for, or how many assets a team needs to give up to acquire anyone. No one needs to overpay in trades to acquire a player that other teams don’t have to pay the same price for. Whenever someone overpays in a trade it’s because they want that player more than somebody else does.
