Description

A Lindholm extension probably carries a Horvat-like AAV @ 8.5M per. Doing that and extending both Hronek and Pettersson really limits their ability to contend in the following 3 years, so if they are loading up with Lindholm this year, I'd do it with the understanding that you're trading Petey in the summer, and try to recoup the loss of Lekkerimaki in the deal. Unless of course Pettersson goes the Crosby/Bergeron route and signs a team friendly extension. And if the cost for Lindholm is Hoglander, I'm not making that deal.

Monahan easily has more value than kuzmenko and xhekaj easily has more value than KUDRYAVTSEV

Monahan is more valuable right now, but you aren’t getting someone with the upside of Kuzmenko for Xhekaj. Canucks wouldn’t trade him for a would be healthy scratch/AHL dman

For the Canucks to consider this package Lindholm would have to b retained to at least 50% and have an extension in place.

Lekkermaki is a legit prospect.

A decade of a below average-bad dman or a high upside winger you could flip for good assets after increasing his value (like you’ve done with Monahan)

Taking the more talented player makes a lot more sense

Nah, what Xhekaj brings to this team is more than points. Everyone plays better when he is in the line up because they feel safer. I’m not a big fan of his play but I know what he brings is rare and valuable
