I like Nelson, but he probably isn't available. No need to waste assets on Reilly. 7/8 D isn't a pressing need.

I just don't think the Islanders are trading Nelson until next season at the TDL at the earliest.

Pointless to trade Gus for a scrapper.

Debatable if they can win a cup with that defense.

Sure to Nelson… he’d be a good addition
No to Reilly…we have zero need for him
Sure to Olivier…RHW depth would be a good thing

I would think the Isles pass. Nelson has averaged close to 40 goals per 82 GP over the past 3 seasons - Lucius doesn't project to hit that level of production, and that's before you get to the fact that this is the second season in a row that's ended prematurely due to injury. Reilly and Stanley are different flavors of bottom pair defensemen, so I'd call them a wash - I think a late 1st and a prospect with an injury history just isn't enough for the Isles to move out Nelson.

I don't mind the Olivier-Gustafsson trade, but I'd like to see a 6th or 7th coming back to Columbus too. Olivier has a very set 4th-line semi-enforcer role, but can still pitch in. Gustafsson might become a consistent NHLer, but on the off chance he doesn't, it would be nice to get another asset in that deal. Not sure Gustafsson's ceiling is much higher than Olivier's at this point.

When Chisholm is claimed from waivers in a few hours depth D will be a more pressing need
Logan Stanley is not good

Ya not a very realistic trade for Nelson in all honestly would have to swap Lucius with one of Mcgroaty/Lambert/Chibrikov which I doubt Chevy is ready to do asides from maybe Chibrikov
