If Lindholm signs for 7.5, then do the Canucks let Petey or Hronek walk? I can't see them affording all three.

You're delusional, No way are all four players returning a 1st round pick, Too many players available and not enough buyers going around. More than likely Arizona and New Jersey won't make the playoffs. So obviously they're not buyers.

1. No, not even close.
2. No. Remove the Calgary 5th, add a Toronto 3rd and you might have something. Or it might take a 2nd instead of a 3rd just because it's Toronto and Treliving.
3. Maybe, Calgary probably want's a good prospect instead of the two late 2nds.
4. Maybe

"1. Not even close." - That's a very solid offer. Lindholm is a worse version of Horvat and Horvat when for a 1st, worse young player and a cap dump.

It's terrible. A very late 1st for a 1st line center isn't even close. Hoglander isn't worth much and Calgary would have no interest in adding a small 4th line left shot winger who's RFA after next season anyhow.

Lindholm is better than Horvat and Raty is both bigger and was considered a far better prospect when that trade was made than Hoglander ever was.

In addition Lindholm is a good 1st line RW. Putting him on the 1st PP as the extra forward (lining up on D) would make it scary good.

And before you bring it up, no it doesn't matter if Lindholm would centering the 2nd line in Vancouver. He maybe not be an elite superstar 1st line center who can pile up lots of points regardless of who he plays with but he's still a good two way 1st line center.

I like the first trade.
Canucks fans will be flushed cheeks if Hoglander gets traded to CGY.

So tell me then, if this is a "terrible" offer, then what would be a fair offer from Vancouver? Keeping in mind of course that a "terrible" offer is no where close to being close in value.

Lindholm this year: 31 points
Horvat pre trade last year: 31 goals

Yup! I think he must have realized he was mistaken, as he choose not to bite the hook I casted on my last comment.

Lindholm is a good player and one I wouldn't at all mind if VAN acquires, however he would be a 3C on more teams currently in the playoffs than he would be a 2C. League wide he's a decent-pretty good 2C, but he certainly doesn't have the value Horvat did last season.

I like lindholm as a 2C. However, unfortunately for Calgary, he's having a very down year and wants a boatload on his next deal. on the flipside, playing in their favour is the lack of available centers.

If they can get a desperate team to overpay, or a bidding war to start, they could get a very good haul.

As of right now Montreal is helping calgary out by overpricing Monahan. When apparently Monahan costs a 1st, 1st+2nd+Prospect for Elias Lindholm doesn't seem to bad. I don't know what the market is on Henrique but if Anaheim wants a 1st it'll help Calgary a ton. idk who else is on the market as a rental. Wennberg maybe?

Lindholm is having a down year, however his best offensive years came when he played with Gaudreau and Tkachuk, I think many C's would have inflated stats when playing between those two players. Last year was the first year since he went to CAL where he didn't get to play with either of those players and his numbers dropped fairly significantly (dropped 18 points), and this year he's on pace for about 10 less points than last tear.

It's within the realm of possibility that CAL gets a strong overpay for Lindholm, but I still doubt its more than what Vancouver got for Horvat last season. I heard an insider say the other day that some insiders think there might not be as many teams buying big this deadline as there aren't a bunch of clear favourites as contenders, it will be interesting to see how that plays out. As for MON, teams often start high with their ask and then drop it closer to deadline.
