No. If there's a player that has had an even worse time living up to his draft expectations, its Podkolzin. Turcotte at least has severe concussion injuries to point to for his slow development. And now that he's healthy he's been very good for the Reign and earned his call-up to the NHL today.

I think it's a bit short sighted to say that on Podkolzin. Podz was rushed to the NHL then kept getting told to play more D to the point his offensive confidence dwindled. Then got to to hot start this year until he got slew footed and concussed been a bit up and down since he's come back. I do agree trade makes little sense for both sides its probably too high of risk for both teams to consider doing it. I don't think Podkolzin will get traded this year unless a young power forward type player who can play in the top six is coming back in return.

I think you mean, Turcotte has had a severe concussion and now his development has stagnated in comparison to Podkolzin. Its called cause and effect.
You can say that Podkolzin hasn't panned out as well as expected yet but , compared to Turcotte's development trajectory, he's way ahead.

Podkolzin has more NHL games than Turcotte has AHL + NHL games

Podkolzin is in the AHL because he doesn't require waivers to be sent down and the Canucks had a gluttony of NHL-quality wingers to start the season. He went down early with an injury and was ineligible for a call-up when the team needed him, so Aman and Karlsson went up instead. He's had 9 points in his last 10 games since coming back from injury in Abby. Podkolzin > Turcotte.
