Umm... maybe. But he'd have a MUCH better chance of getting them to accept if he gave away Timmins and McMann in the other trades. Retention on two guys totaling roughly 4M with one eating up a slot for 2 1/2 seasons is alright for the picks and Robertson. Expecting them to also take on Timmins (signed for another year) and McMann is really piling up the cap/contract burden shift.
