Couple of contracts I see that I don't think will be offered at that payment.

Arty won't get 2.6mil, unless he is suddenly played a lot more over the last 35 games. As much as I like him, Blake can't bring back Lizotte at that cap hit. Spence is the last one that I think is probably not a reasonable expectation. That saves ~2mil after replacement players on lower contracts.

The next comment I have is that Byfield and Roy are the most interesting contracts that the Kings will deal with this summer. Q especially since his could be long-term or bridge. Roy, I'd be willing to add a year on to that if the cap hit could be brought down 500k.

You're right. Rob's got some interesting work to do this summer... provided he's still there. Which is looking less and less likely.

In the assumption Blake is no longer around.... how likely is it that we see a PLD buyout? Would give a lot more flexibility.

Deadline for a PLD buyout is June 23. He turns 26 on June 24 and that ups the buyout amount from 1/3 to 2/3 of the remaining contract value.

I'm not sure there's time for a Blake replacement to come in, evaluate what's going on, and pull the trigger on a 14 year buyout.

I think they're stuck with him for at least 4-5 years.

There's also going to be at least $1M of bonus overage (Talbot) added to next year's cap that's not shown here, plus whatever Byfield, Clarke, and Spence earn (if any).

Not likely at all. They are better off trying to put him together as he can still be a 50-60pt PWFD

Not convinced PLD can be a power anything. Dude gives absolutely nothing.

Present and accounted for. Big Turcotte fan. Very happy he got his NHL debut for this season yesterday afternoon. I thought he looked solid in his limited minutes.

He's not gonna be a 1 or 2C. But he still has the ability to be a good 3C or a supporting 2LW, I think. With the big caveat of "If he stays healthy".

He has the potential to unseat Blake Lizotte for the title of "Best bottom six center since Jarret Stoll"

Non Kings fans probably won't understand that for the compliment that it is.
