Players I would move if a first round loss
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>The usual non thinking straight. Kampf isn't waiving to a non playoff team with cap. By the way, Kampf as many goals as any Leafs player this playoffs.
Same with Jarnkrok. He has M NTC also. Jarnkrok at 2.1m is fair value
Reaves, if he such bad value, the Leafs can just bury him with minimal cap hit. But since he has been playing regularly, he has been fine.
NMC Marner being traded is not logical at all. Not resigning him, I understand.</div></div>
I didn't specify anything about where these players would go, if you wanna maybe read the post over one more time.
Kampf isn't anything special. 2.4m to kill penalties and be a 4C which is what a plethora of league min guys can do. Bad contract, money can be allocated elsewhere.
I'd rather trade Marner, take a hit on offense to bolster our defense. He's abysmal in the playoffs.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hockeynutter</b></div><div>.As for Marner, same goes as I said for Nylander. We would need an equivalent winger posting 82-100 points back or a true top 2 defenseman coming back. With Nylander he was apparently dangled and no one offered a comparable defenseman back. It was all futures based and our winning timeline is within 4-5 years most likely so a futures based deal is not feasible when considering it usually takes 4-5 years to develop.cant work the trade prior to UFA without knowing whom we can sign and if we sign first, then we look desperate and team may lower the offers for Marner.
All told I am fine with trading Marner just don't see the feasibility.</div></div>
Half our D core is comprised of 6th defenders. Bush, Benoit, Edmundson. We need legitimate help on the back end. Somebody like Tanev would have been stellar, even big Z.
If we're moving Marner, it should be for a big add on the back end + a young forward.

He plays like 50 games a season. Too big a risk to take that contract. It's not anyones loss lol

Staal will at least continue to be a dominant chance creating center who will finish top 5 in Selke voting. He'll do everything Tavares is doing better than Tavares, extends the Leafs window with cheap scoring depth, and gets to go home to Ontario (yeah, I know Thunder Bay is in the middle of nowhere and like 5 hours from Toronto, but it's close enough for this).</div></div>
Then why did you make a post trading Staal for Tavares? Dude... are you a real human?

Should we expect his defensive game to come back after it has fallen apart this season? Not at 35+ years old. Basically in signing Liljegren for so little money you've removed any incentive that might exist for the Leafs to move him. They could just sign him to a similar amount, put him on a 3rd pair, and hope for the same jump in his game you are.</div></div>
This guy will make posts trading for Leaf players, then try to convince Leaf fans the players he traded for aren't that good. I'm convinced Caniac is an AI chatbot being used in a social experiment tbh.

Staal will finish top 10 in Selke voting on pure nepotism.</div></div>
Do you just say things on here and hope they are right? Liljegren plays around 19 minutes a night lmao, he is a great 2RD. His metrics have been great, too.
Nobody is helping you take that Staal contract. Wayy too much money and term for a bottom 6 C you can find anywhere in free agency. Especially not one signed until he's 39.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Can't help but notice you currently have an $11 million anchor in that role, this dude could do almost the same thing of a quarter of the price.</div></div>
Tavares is one year removed from 80pts. He's doing fine, just a down year. Staal is a 30pt bottom 6C.
I legitimately can't tell if you're trolling or not. GG.
