Description
I don't know all their lines.

Thoughts on the moves though? I really like the Montreal trade for both teams.

Duclair for 2 mid picks. Retention or no Retention. Didn't need it here.

Rangers decline the San Jose trade. A mid round pick should be sufficient for Duclair.

They are getting the 33 or 34th overall back as well. So its basically the 25-32 for the 33 or 34 and Duclair.

Or we can use that pick on someone better.

Okay I will adjust the trade. 2026 3rd and 2024 4th for Duclair?

I do think Hughes could revive Kakko, so this could be an interesting deal for sure

Yes but Rangers would rather give up say pick #90 than swap a first and second. A player they have rated in say the top 20 in the draft can potentially fall to 25 but unlikely all the way to 33.

Fits perfectly with the age of the group and Kakko is already really good defensively, based on everything I have heard. So worst case he just ends up being a solid 3rd liner. Best case he ends up being a big top 6 winger.

Anywhere between a sort of MTL Leky to a 60 pt power forward would be a very useful player for sure

Ranger pass, but offer the Leafs a 6th round pick for Domi with 50% retention.

Montreal trade is interesting. Jeff Gorton drafted Kakko so I could definitely see some interest there. Along with a center they need in Monahan, NYR get back some youngish depth pieces with term. I like the idea

MTL will most likely get a 1st+ for Monahan as a rental, so MTL will not trade him for a bust and a 2nd and add 2 other prospects/players to the deal
