To shed cap and then get another defenceman. Apparently they want to trade him. Maybe it's just a baseless rumour.

that zadorov trade is hilarious, we got him for essentially a 3rd and beauvillier and now we lose him for nothing? What are you on?

The only way I’d see is even consider moving Zadorov is if we have an agreement on a Tanev deal beforehand. We definitely aren’t giving him away for free

Canucks get back cap space and probably a 3rd because Treliving likes him and will re-sign him.

The player, the agent, and the president have all denied this rumour. Even if they were shopping him, they wouldn’t trade him for nothing

They're not trading him for nothing. They're trading him for cap space and more than likely a 3rd. Some teams have to pay a 3rd to make cap space. So this is a fair deal.

That's less than what we paid for him lmfao his value hasn't gone down, there's abouslety no reason for Vancouver to make this deal

His value has gone down. Canucks got him in November and are looking to trade him in February/March.

Apart from the Leafs, who else was even in on him?

Giving a 3rd in this deal is actually generous. A 4th should get it done.

I'd say we know for certain, the best Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal has denied they are shopping him, our POHO Jim Rutherford denied it today pretty blatantly his quote was "No we are not shopping Zadorov" and Zadorovs agent Dan Milstein also said Vancouver isn't trying to move him and that they will eventually have contract extension talks with Vancouver

They're probably saying that to avoid tanking his value further. GMing 101. Every GM wants to "keep" their guys. A week ago Calgary was saying they're looking to extend Lindholm.

yeah but an agent and the best Vancouver insider isn't likely going to deny it to do a gm a favor, there is just no smoke here so there is no fire here. leafs should have paid the extra pick when he was still with Calgary, Vancouver has no incentive to do this deal especially with us not shopping Zadorov

based on what? canucks 17-3-4 with Zadorov in the line-up. hes playing top 4 minutes 5v5. he leads the team in hits by a defenceman since getting here.

      where's the remorse?

He doesn't shoot right? I don't know. I'm just trying to make sense of the rumours that the Canucks are looking to deal him.

Zadorov's Agent Dan Milstein and Canucks President of Hockey operations Jim Rutherford have both denied those rumours publicly.

Friedman simply mentioned once in passing that the canucks might look to move a player for cap space, such as kuzmenko, and he spitballed maybe zadorov. it wasnt a rumour, just speculation.

Frirdman is always careful with his words. He might know something substantial.
