No from Boston. Not moving him for 2 fourth liners and definitely not retaining.

have you seen the bruins roster? i'm not sure any of these guys crack the lineup. A legitimate shot at ullmark would include either:
1. such an extreme overpay with futures that the bruins could flip those assets for something at the top of the lineup thats impactful, or
2. a legit 1C, or
3. a legit 2C that's young.

without that, move along, bruins will happily keep him.

Alright yeah I'm passing on that price. Kaliyev easily moves to your top prospect. I get it he's a "4th liner" right now but he hasn't been deployed properly here.

he's not a prospect, he's been in the NHL for three years. can't just build a trade for value, has to be fit as well. this is the bruins basically just giving away the goalie that just won the vezina, while they're sitting atop the east. oh, and retaining when they're up against the cap. doesn't make much sense, does it?

The vezina year is looking more and more like the outlier year in his career, doesn't it?

Shoulda sold him in the offseason is if you ever wanted a 1C return.

Ya I doubt 2 4th liners, an old backup goalie, and a 2nd pull Ullmark with retention

Buins dont have much reason to move Ullmark right now, so it'd take an irrefusable offer to get him

Ullmark is a .910 goalie on most teams out of Boston. So keep dreaming for that 1C I guess.

A rental or short-term goaltender with a ~1M cap hit.

Someone like Charlie Lindgren from Washington or Kevin Lankinen from Nashville (the latter with retention).

of course that was an outlier. it was a historic season.

he's still been a pretty high end goalie though.

Just curious. He’s top 10 in goals saved above expected per 60 at .447, which is a stat that adjusts for save difficulty. That number would be top 5 most years in the past 8 years.

It was supposed to be Copley who stepped up, but he sucked. It was supposed to be Talbott, but he’s regressed to the mean. Now it is another journeyman AHL type who’s looked good to date. At some point, maybe Blake needs to revisit his position before he’s fired.

When he came from Buffalo, Ullmark was a fundamentally below average goalie. He’s actually very sound right now. I keep on hearing people diminish him when he’s done nothing but play extremely well.

He needs to stay healthy for the playoffs, but even his cursory stats adjusted for expected goals were solid last year. Would have expected more in the playoffs, but he reportedly wasn’t healthy.

Minimizing him because he had an incredible season followed up by a good one is an interesting strategy.

Fabian Lysell, Mason Lohrei, and Matt Poitras are all easily more valuable prospects esoecially with how Lysell is playing in Providence the past two months.

Kaliyev has had a bad year. The only positive about that is he should be open to a cheap bridge deal. I’d consider a third for him or a prospect swap though I’m not sure there is a good fit for a straight swap there.

I think the Bruins should give Lysell a shot before trying to acquire a guy like him. My guess is you wouldn’t get a lot and his talent is probably worth keeping.
