Sooo Kotkaniemi eh

Team: 2023-24 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 2, 2024
Published: Feb. 2, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Him leaving to Carolina messed up both Carolina and Mtl.
Carolina got a player and payed him way too much money up front.
Mtl went and traded away great picks for Dvorak...who would be lucky to play again in the nhl

all your doing is showing people on this board you are so jealous of a 23 year old hockey player that you sit on the internet and troll him for being inconsistant.

If KK played any more than the 12-13 minutes he plays a night his stats would look a WHOOOLLLEEE lot different. A 2c doesn't play 12 minutes a night with sheltered defensive matchups. He's a 3c

You're comparing raw on-ice totals for a sheltered player on a contender vs the player playing 21 minutes on a rebuilder.

Why you're deciding to doing that? No clue

He plays closer to 17 minutes a night bud, he plays 12 minutes 5-on-5. I'm not trying to throw shade at Suzuki, but he's putting up comparable stats with a strong QoC despite his shooting percentage and PDO being extremely tough. My point here is his production is unsustainably low. He's going to end up breaking through this again, and he'll be around 40-50 points again, which is a fine 2C.

12 minutes 5v5 is still not a 2C. It’s still not close to the 21 Suzuki plays on a rebuilder. Id love to see KK’s stats if he played any more than 3rd line minutes on a bad team.

His qoc is non existent. i dunno where you’ve convinced yourself somewhere along the line that he plays against a strong comp, but he doesn’t. he also gets deployed in the ozone 60% of the time, really shows how much brindamour values his defensive game 😭

Suzuki's used as a 1C though, His QoC factor is actually quite high, je plays strong competition. I'd love to know where you get this idea that he doesn't but it's flat out wrong. Rod cannot manage game situations, so KK often ends up trying to shut down secondary threats, and he does quite well considering his linemates tend to be clownshows defensively.

That’s my point. Suzuki is used as a 1C. Gets slammed with minutes on a bad team while KK is sheltered getting 12 minutes TOI on a contender. You started comparing the two when it’s completely asinine.

Either way my point still stands. KK isn’t close to the defensive monster Canes fans love to state he is.

Except, their QoC factors are similar, and the QoT factor isn't extremely far apart. KK is no more sheltered than Suzuki, and he is a defensive monster lol. If you don't appreciate that, seems like a you problem

He simply isn’t. and despite the evidence suggesting he hasn’t been all that great defensively this year, you double down because you can’t handle somebody telling you that your players aren’t that good.

not a me problem.
