I wouldn’t pay that much for Knies. I would keep Savard. I can picture him playing 3rd pairing/pk specialist minutes (12-15 min/g) one day while being a veteran presence on this young team. We can’t trade all those vets. When these kids come up, they’ll need guidance and leadership from someone.

Leafs pass, Knies is too valuable

That is a HUGE overpay, Leaf fans hype him up but he isn't much, he's on a line with Marner and Matthews, yet is putting up 3rd line player numbers

The sudden deluge of ACGMs of other teams wanting to trade expensive depth/pending UFAs and draft picks for Knies says otherwise.

Not easy as a rookie to go against the other teams top pair every night averaging just 14 minutes of ice time and 0 powerplay time. 8 even strength goals and 8 even strength assist. More even strength points than you know who!

Both decline IMO leafs want the rookie contract and they have to stop trading wingers that can/have potential too play wing w matthews and marner. I dobt mtl wants to trade this much for Knies
