And no Ottawa isn't dealing Tarasenko to a divisional foe for a lousy 2nd either.

And Calgary gets a better offer than that for Chris Tanev.

They'd take a 1st this year every time imo. A 1st now is WAY better than a 2nd next year and four years from now. That 2028 2nd won't play for them until the mid 2030s, that's useless for them, compared to a 1st rounder who is 2 or 3 years out.
