I can't imagine Carolina gives up Necas. And I REALLY can't imagine they'd do so for Tristan Jarry

Friedman said they would probably for a goalie (Saros) and they are also dreading the arbitration for him

Okay, but Saros and Jarry aren't the same caliber goalie

Yeah but Jarry is a top 10 goalie and is signed at a good cap hit while Saros is going to need a new deal and could ask for Hellybuck deal. Plus you are forgetting Jake Guentzel is in the deal and is the best player in the deal

yes obviously CAR takes the deal...

your evaluation for both jarry and Guentzel are pretty good but imo a bit too low

Uhm, no. He said no such thing.

He “wondered” if there’d be a fit trading Necas for Saros. Context matters.

Including Necas in a trade for a goalie would be seen as an overpayment by the org. They don't give up high value assets or money for goaltending. Arb isnt enough to move Necas unless you're getting a similarly aged and skill forward back (ex. he was offered for a potential Tkachuk trade summer 2022).

That Jarry deal sucks, and the Canes don’t give up big pieces for rentals, with Guentzel already turning down 8.5mil on a long term, and likely searching for around the 10mil mark. Canes don’t want the next Huberdeau.
