i would think poitras is off the table.

blue line is just fine without him. but yes, replace poitras with lohrei and i think this trade works for both sides, especially if the bruins can talk to Hanifin prior to figure out what his number is on a six or seven year deal.

I don't take it too difficult to convince him to sign a long term deal to stay in boston since He would essentially be playing at home.

this is your guess. i don't find anything wrong with it, but we don't know. it also depends on what he wants financially. boston could have him as a $5.5M player and he wants $7.5 and it just doesn't work etc.
