The Minnesota and Arizona trades aren't necessary and I think Wanner is too steep a price to pay for how slight an upgrade Carrier is over Ceci.

The price to upgrade over Pickard isn't worth how little Edmonton actually gets via upgrade (Fleury is a downgrade with too many miles and almost 3x the cap hit). I don't understand what everyone enjoyed about Bjugstad last year as I recall his time in Orange and Blue to be wholly lacklustre (he was actually a boat anchor in the playoffs). I'm not paying assets to bring him back and would rather pay the price on Dowd.

AZ easy pass, B+ W prospect (AZ is deepest at W), maybe the worst W in the NHL (yeah rental but), and a 3rd in 3years for vet middle C under contract next year.

Carrier is a massive, massive upgrade over Ceci. I don’t know what you’ve seen from Ceci to suggest otherwise

Bourgault is C/W, so that point is moot. It’s essentially a 2nd and a 3rd here, I’d say that’s worth it for a 3rd liner at 1 mil

Carrier's a better puck mover and a bit of a better skater but there's a very minor difference in their ability to defend. Would I include Ceci in a deal for Carrier? Yes. My original point stands however as I still think Wanner is too much to pay for such a minor discrepancy in who is/isn't effective.

I'm only moving Akey and/or Wanner for a veritable upgrade with term. Someone like Andersson.

i dont know if AHLer F w 6G/10A/43games is worthy of a 2nd round pick, brown is not wanted at all and the 3rd is 15yo now (not helping team for years). this is easy pass, if Bjug was UFA then fine but he is not.

Statistically, there's little difference. The numbers do favour Carrier ever so slightly and he's getting more goaltender support from Saros than Ceci is from Skinner, but it's not a night-and-day comparison.

I would like Edmonton to acquire Carrier. I think if Holland could make the cap work that keeping Ceci as the #3RD would be a very prudent move. I'm not interested in hedging two quality assets to make that minor of an upgrade though. Give Nashville a first instead: it's very likely that once Desharnais walks and Kemp's current deal expires, Wanner is going to have every chance to be the #3RD for Edmonton. There's still going to be a massive need for cheap quality RFA deals once we hit 2025-26.

It's fine if you're just tired of watching Ceci play but you don't need to make things up.
