not that I'm down on Lambos, but the Sens tbh just have no reason not to retain 50% and maximize return

Would prefer to keep Vladdy but if we have to trade him we need to maximize his return by retaining on him for 1.5 months. Don't think OTT does this deal, need to get a 1st+ for him which shouldn't be too tough.

Ottawa doesn't need more LHD though I guess they could trade Lambos, would think the Sens would just prefer picks for Tarasenko.

Hard to get a 1st for a rental with an NTC. I'm thinking the Sens are looking for a Kane-type deal (2nd+4th).

The same player had a NTC last year and got a 1st+... And you can argue he's been quite a bit better in Ottawa this year than last year in STL.

Also hoping Spurgeon returns Tampa/Vegas-style

Even if he somehow was able to convince the coaches that he is healthy enough to be on the ice, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near game action until next season. He's 34 coming off back and hip surgeries. If there is any hope of getting some sort of value out of the last 3 years of his contract (or potentially trade him to get out of the cap hit), we need to think for the future instead of possible short term gain. Wait until he is clearly 100% instead of risking him getting reinjured and suffering permanent damage in a year we realistically have next to zero chance at the cup.
