Ignoring the fact this is total HERESY! lol, the trade is underwhelming for the Avs. Offers like this are why the trade hasn't happened yet. 2nd round picks and 2nd tier prospects won't cut it; need to lay your money down. Not too sure DET is a good trade fit, but a better start would be Svechnikov.

I think we're better off trading Tatar to a team who has a young and upcoming defenseman to a team that has a chance of making noise or badly needs scoring. Like it or not we're stuck with Nielsen and helm as our top 2 for the future with helm/Sheahan as our number 3.

I think Tatar is a good fit for a Carolina more so than Nashville. If you were going to make that trade though, I would ask for Sissons & Aberg in the deal. I don't think your deal gets Duchene. You want Duchene, youll probably have to do like a Green, Sheahan, Ouellet & a 2nd round pick that goes to a 1st round if Green Doesn't resign.
