Barron will cost at least Frost or Foerster, probably more like Tippett

Barron might be worth a late 1st, but theres a reason hes in Laval, and so far looks like no sure thing as a top 4 RD. And its about organizational depth, MTL doesn;t need Barron as much as they need a foerster or frost. Even a late 1st is based on projections for Barron, projections hes not close to yet, but foerster or frost are more established and have shown more at the NHL level.

An early in the round 2nd and 3 future picks (assets) is quite a nice return based on MTL projections for Reinbacher and Maillot. I could understand if you wanted a player back, but I think you’re over estimating Barron’s value, especially as hes presently back in the minors, and MTL depth (and Barron's fight for a spot) is probably not getting weaker at the NHL level

Barron isn't really in the minors based on his play, it's because we are trying to showcase some other D men for the TDL. Matheson and Guhle are going to stay into next year so they are playing top pairing. Savard could be traded depending on the offers but I personally expect him to stay. The guys I think they are showcasing are Hartis, Struble and Kovacevic. Since Barron is waiver exempt and isn't better than any of Mayheson, Guhle or Savard he is the one that got demoted to showcase the others. After the TDL I fully expect Barron to be called back up and play top 4 again
