Leafs dont even consider it, he is no where near worth 4.75M for two additional years. Retain 50% and maybe something can be worked out.

Assuming he stays healthy, he'll probably eclipse 40 pts. He skates better than 90% of the league and offer special eams play. Guys like that will get paid similar to that much this offseason given the cap bump. My biggest gripe is how he is utilized in Van and his recent cold streak.

Ok so the Canucks will have no problem keeping him then. No team would want the guy, so he's stuck in VAN regardless (unless a heft price is paid to dump him)

Personally not a fan of Bert. TO was smart to not give term. His game may be useful in the playoffs but he's inconsistent. May boom or be invisible outside the occasional chirp.

Everyone knows to throw the Lesfs logo in to generate traffic; clearly a nonsensical trade - we could have signed him to this deal, but let him walk in FA … yet now we spend an asset to bring him back 🤯 - but you got what you wanted, I guess 🤷🏻.

A good player? Admittedly I didn't love the four year term. 3 would've been ideal. I expected wheels and stone hands but turns out he had more skill than expected.

Maybe I interpreted 'but you got what you wanted' wrong... It's all good. I made the trade as an option for next season. Leafs will be after a Bert replacement. Maybe that's an internal young player or UFA.
