There’s no way Holmstrom has as much value as Kakko or Perreault lol

No interest in him, you can keep Tarasenko....We have no use for him, not making the playoffs

If we are stupid enough to buy this deadline, I rather go after someone else. Never a fan of this guy.

Is this a rumor? I just don't see the fit - the team made their big swing with the coaching change and they're still 4 points out of the playoffs with 25 games to go. It's not an impossible place to be, but it's not the place to be trading 1st rounders for rentals from.

If the Isles add, I assume it's a smaller move (similar to sending out a 3rd for Engvall last deadline) - even Lou has to recognize that this is not the year to be pushing all his chips in.

David Pagnotta says the Isles are linked to Tarasenko.

My understanding was that last year, Tarasenko only allowed his NTC to be waived for either the Isles, Devils or Rangers.

Any truth to that ?

Pagnotta always strikes me as a blind squirrel - he throws a lot out there, especially concerning the Islanders, and occasionally nails it. I could buy that Tarasenko only wanted to go to a tri-state team last season because last year at the deadline they were all three in pretty safe playoff position. This year, even if he's still open to a trade, I think it's less likely that they move their 1st - the only year of Lou's term that they were completely out of the picture at the deadline, they didn't make any big moves (2021-22) - that was the year they traded their 1st at the draft. I think that, barring a big run over the next two weeks, I think Lou keeps it quieter.

Isles are in no position to be buyers right now.
