Boston calls us on draft day trying to clear cap they’ll be getting less than a 1st.

Either that pick is high in which case Ullmark isn’t worth it, or we’ve figured it out and thus aren’t paying big for a goalie

Call us today, and you’re sold with protections on the pick.

boston doesn't have a cap issue for next season - if they're moving ullmark, it's just for value, not for cap purposes.

You’ll be using that Ullmark cap to go after UFAs.

The worst time to try and sell a guy with a high cap hit is the offseason.

Because free agents are available.

And you’d be selling Ullmark and spending that cap on UFAs

they have cap to spend on UFAs.

if it's a year of ullmark or a lowball return, it's a year of ullmark.

I’ve seen a lot of GMs take lowball returns in the offseason. If Boston has some UFAs they like, I would not be shocked at all to see him moved below market value.

And if you’re getting guys like Hanifin or others for free as UFAs, I don’t think it’s a bad move for Boston.

Seeeney and gold are systematic with cap management. I believe they are going with a top shelf free agent, resigning DeBrusk or replacing him. Other than that, I think they go with short term contracts selling culture and fit.

I think Ullmark’s salary slot is probably earmarked for Frederic long term.

What do you think Frederic’s next contract looks like?

I wish I knew, but if he continues on his improvement path … he’s going to be very coveted in free agency.
