If we keep losing…we’re not buying anything at deadline.

Your best shot might be Philly at this point.

Getting back the country of Saudi Arabia is a pretty decent return for McLeod and Foote.

Pass. Huby has been playing well, and better than Meier, I'd rather keep Markstrom and I think we should target a good C prospect in a Hanifin deal

    It's not hard to grasp.

    Huberdeau is better than Meier.
I don't want to trade Markstrom, I think he's more valuable as a mentor to Wolf.
I would prefer to try and get a center in a Hanifin deal, like Bourque from Dallas or someone of that nature.

Huberdeau is at or close to a PPG in the last 20 games played. He's still not a 10M player, but baby steps.

I think the trade could work for both sides, but these kinds of blockbusters don't happen anymore.

It would cost you like 3 1sts to get out of maybe the worst contract in nhl history.

    Take this trade

lol, The Meier contract isn't any better, also a bunch of NMCs you need to work around. I think Huberdeau will be much if the Flames find a center to play with him, that can think the game on the same level.

I'd be okay with the trade, but Meier(best season of 76P compared to Huberdeau's 115) and Vanecek are pretty big red flags.

The meier contract is quite a bit less worse. He's 4 years younger and it's a good bit less money.

In terms of AAV there’d be at minimum a 3 mill gap between what I’d offer them on an 8 year deal with Meier getting more. That + the fact that Meier is 1.7 mill cheaper. You’d have to get me 40 million dollars of value to bridge that gap over 8 years.

    Meier is better.

Meier is half a decade younger (38 year old huberdeau of 33 year old Meier). Meier may bounce back. Huberdeau very likely only continues to decline with age.

Meier makes 1.7 million less AAV.

You’d have to pay me a number of 1sts to make that swap

TIL the guy with 50% fewer points is somehow better.

Over the last 2 years Meier has the same amount of points, in 14 less games, with double the goals while playing a significant portion of this season battling an injury that significantly impacted his skating.

I’d MUCH rather have Meier for the next 8 years from ages 27-34 than huberdeau from ages 30-37, let alone the fact that huberdeau costs 1.7 mill more a year.
