Description

Erik Gudbranson 50% retained at 2 Mil
He is 6’5,Great on the PK,Physical,Protects the net well, is only 31 & having a fantastic defensive season with Jake Bean (6th in the League in xGA & GA)

but we want Andrew Peeke who is younger,shorter,having a much worse season, hasn’t had a good season in 2 years, has worse numbers on the PK & 5 on 5, including the worst pairing in the Jackets mainly playing with Provorov with a xGA that ranks 128th in xGA & GA)

So please explain why Peeke is a good option but Gudbranson at 2 mil is a bad one?

I like the idea of Gudbrason, especially if we end up playing FLA in playoffs. Playoff guy

Gudbranson is a bad option because he will require a significant overpay for us to move him, even moreso if you want the Jackets to retain for multiple years. Front office loves him in the lockerroom and we need vets like him around with this young team.
