Inter division trades are rare, pretty much non existent. And it doesn’t matter - no chance Leafs consider this imo

That’s funny
Bc I’d say the same thing from the Sabres perspective
ZERO CHANCE we’d trade Mitts for a crappy package like that

1st + a 24 year old 2nd pair RHD is no crappy package, no brainer to skip out on giving that for a 2nd line winger, fringe 2nd line C due for a raise in the offseason. Doesn't solve any need for Toronto, gives away our best trade assets to plug real holes, and creates one at 2RD.

Leafs need RHD Liljegren more than centre/winger Middlestadt. Might be fair trade but not needed by the Leafs.

No reason to get rid of Mitts to dump Johnson's contract (especially to a team that cannot resign him next year), and Liljigren is not what Buffalo needs.

Toronto has nothing available of value, Sabres don't even consider that

Lol. Ok, but from OUR perspective….
-more like Fringe 2nd pair RD- we’d want someone better defensively- MUCH better
-Gregor has zero value
-and a late 1st doesn’t have much value at all for us either

This package gives us NOTHING that we “need”

And u guys should LOVE to get a 2C like Mitts to replace Tavares asap
But whatever, we aren’t doing this crap trade so it doesn’t matter

You must really want to get rid of Okposo if you're hoping to get back a 33-year-old backup G with a very uncertain NHL future, a $4M cap dump, and a winger that COL has decided to stuff in the AHL.

Replace Tavares? Mitts never has or will had a better season than him. That's a ridiculous statement. Liljegren is solid defensively - immediate, undeniable upgrade over anyone not named Dahlin, Power, and Samuelsson for the Sabres. And agreed - neither side seems to want this deal so who cares?

I never said Mitts had a “better season”
U don’t seem to understand how words work

Mitts “REPLACES” Tavares bc his contract is up & u guys will need a new 2C

Wow dude, calm down & think for a sec before u lose your mind & just fire back blindly

when JT's deal is up he'll extend at a cheap cap and shift to wing, then from there either one of Minten or Cowan should be ready to step into the role and failing that we'll sign either a legit 2C or a grittier fringe 2C. Perfectly calm, just having Mitts "replace" JT makes zero sense for Toronto. He's a soft skill player who I wouldn't trust enough defensively as the 2C, we don't have a use for that in Toronto. For our purposes, I'd be hard-pressed to accept trading Liljegren one for one.

yeah we do in a speculative, for-fun vacuum but Leafs will never be targeting him so doesn't really matter anyways. But yes, true

So…..
1- u will then need a replacement at 2C for Tavares, LIKE I SAID
2- thanks for telling me you don’t know much about Mitts or his growth these past TWO seasons

No worries, have a great day
