No, Buffalo doesn’t want your damaged goods. Othmann is ok, but Chytil is already close to retirement due to injury. If you want Mitts it’s going to cost you Braden Schneider.

Schneider is a non starter, just fills a gap and creates a new one for us. I think if Buffalo is confident that Chytil can make a recovery, they take it, but it’s entirely contingent on that factor. Basically what happened with the Eichel deal but this time it’s Buffalo taking that gamble.

No, we’re not doing that. We don’t need a guy who is one more headshot away from never playing again, and that’s assuming he even comes back. We’re not talking about Pat Lafontaine here, so it’s not exactly worth the risk. Trading Mittelstadt also creates a hole for Buffalo, so they want to fill one that they need to and this trade doesn’t do that for us. Bringing in a young right handed defenseman does though. You have to give to get, and if it doesn’t hurt to give it’s not enough.

Chytil, if he does recover, is IMO a near 1 for 1 swap for Mittelstadt skill wise. Othmann is a future middle six play driver at minimum as well, and has the potential to be even more. Again, it all hinges on what the doctors think about Chytil. Schneider is far more important to us than Mittelstadt would be, so even if that makes sense value wise, which it does, we would never make that deal because we just don’t need Mittelstadt enough.

Your offer holds little value to Buffalo. We're overstuffed with forwards and left d so unless there's a tough physical right d involved you're not a potential trade partner with us. I
understand you not wanting to trade Schneider but he's only piece that would interest Buffalo so look elsewhere please
