You may be right that people take it way too seriously. But why posts trades where you obviously cap dump Brouwer on Vegas and Frolik on the Rangers and that Dumba trade.....hardly serious at all.

Dumping Brouwers salary is on 90% of the Flames Arm Chair teams - but we're also very aware no team is going to touch him, so we don't try very hard anymore - some have resorted to begging even....but the Leafs managed to trade Clarkson, so there is hope!

So what if Brouwer is on 90% of the trades. It doesn't happen unless the Flames take similar money back. And sorry you do not know the aspects of the Clarkson/Horton. At the time of the trade Horton was on LTIR forever and his contract was uninsured. Leafs paid out of pocket 27.5m to relieve themselves of Clarkson's salary cap. Horton on LTIR didn't count against the cap.
