Make room for cap to sign Tanev + move up a pick. Boston would love to have another depth scorer, and Toronto probably won't be facing them in the playoffs so why not.

you can just waive jones and lagesson since the leafs likely won't be carrying 3 goalies and keep jarnkrok. no sense in helping boston since the leafs are actually extremely likely to meet boston in the first round. jarnkrok actually plays an important role the leafs need, secondary scoring and penalty killing

Ye he does... and he should for you too since he's turn your team into a seller LMAO. If there is one dude I feel sorry for, it's Crosby.

Don't need him if he is gonna be scratched. Things are working perfect with the current roster, and the Leafs don't need any more forwards. They need defence. So is offloading 2M to sign Tanev (a defenceman who the leafs need) a good idea? Or trading a player like Brodie ($5M D) a better idea? I'd say trading forward cap for defence cap is what the team needs to make a deep playoff run. Their forward depth and center depth is perfect.. its the defence, and more specifically the defensive defencemen (Tanev).

Leafs aren’t trading Jarnkrok, and definitely not to a divisional rival 🤦🏻. Outrageous & poorly though out

Not realistic at all. Jarnkrok isn’t a cap dump player and likely isn’t moved unless a team blows the socks off of Toronto management. They call him the Swede Army Knife for a reason - he’s loved by the coaching staff and players and he’s used in all situations. Those players are valuable to their own teams much more than the casual fan knows.

Tanev isn’t worth 5 assets. You’re asking to get fired if that’s what you offer.

If Calgary is willing to retain (doubt they are but you have them retaining 50% here) then Toronto doesn’t need to trade anyone for cap space. They have enough room right now to acquire Tanev at 50% retained

Ron Hextall did that before Kyle ever left.
