      If the Hawks were short on picks perhaps they entertain that offer but they’re not, so I think they decline. With Kampf having three more seasons at $2.4m remaining on his deal I think it takes a 2nd round pick to move him.

      Unfortunately Treliving overpaid for a 4th line center and gave him a 10 team NMC, it will be tough to get out of that deal now.

      You sure because it seems like every second proposal by Leafs fans have them moving him to Chicago for a late round pick.

      You see when your team has an asset that is paid beyond the value he provides on ice and you want to get rid of that contract… it’s a cap dump, especially when you are attempting to move said player to a team that isn’t competing for anything. If you are able to find a competitive team that may find value in that player because he helps fill a need, then you may be able to argue he is not a cap dump. That just isn’t the case with these Kampf or a Timmins or Reaves to Chicago proposals.
