Description

Here is an attempt to put together a Saros trade, what do you all think?

Two 1st Rounders, a former 1st round prospect & a decent Goalie prospect seem like a fair return & in line with what the Predators would want in return I believe?

The Leafs would be letting themselves truly become a Cup Contender with a move like this (they'd probably make other depth moves as well) while not giving up any current piece of their roster to get it done.

What do you all think? Love it? Hate it? Too much given? Too little given? Let me know in those comments!

Note: Two 1st Rounders, a Top prospect like a Topi Niemela or Easton Cowan & a pretty good prospect seems fair. Maybe not Artur (only went with him since a Goalie prospect seemed fitting), but another probably better prospect also fits what I have in mind

Additional Details:

Saros is having a down year this season only putting up a Save Percentage of .904% as of making this.

However over the previous 3 seasons his worst Save Percentage was a .918% while also not having a GAA at or over 2.7 in those prior 3 years.

There also shouldn't be any concerns at extending Saros as the year he becomes a UFA the Tavares contract will be off the books so they will have enough cap space to Re-Sign Saros right there while also keeping Tavares at a reduced cost if they'd like

Seems rich for 2 seasons of a goalie regardless of who it is. Goalies simply don't get these kind of returns.

So the leafs trade for a position their solid in with Woll coming back real soon. Sammy is buried, don't think so his play has been solid since coming back. So the leafs add 3.9M this season in a position they don't need to upgrade. They throw away 3 first rounders and a goalie that could be a solid NHL player down the road.
