everybody hates the leafs on here so no one is gonna be honest in the comments. marner is so much better than tkachuk in all aspects of the game except "grit" i guess... regardless of contract length and value or whatever the sens would be getting the better player by far which is why marner has never once missed the playoffs and why tkachuk has never once played in them lol

Because of Marner's contract situation this trade makes zero sense. Assuming it happens after July 1st this year and either Marner is extended or the Sens negotiate an extension before the trade then the Sens would add and add quite a bit.

Why you doing this? You know what each fanbase will say, & majority of “neutrals” hate (jealous of) the Leafs .
Marner is two time 1st team all NHL, selke finalist, plays for the premier franchise in the league & who has out produced the other by 40% (massive difference in production) over their careers to date. Not even close but maybe you’ll prove something 😕

basically the only things sens fans could earnestly argue tkachuk is better than marner at is toughness and goalscoring. but if you look at the stats marner and tkachuk are tied at 35 for their best goalscoring season, and tkachuk only has three more than marner this year (while having 22 less points lol). so they're basically even in goalscoring ability, while marner blows him out of the water in terms of defense, playmaking, and skating. sens fans can come in here and **** on the leafs but even with the current contract statuses the sens would accept this trade no questions asked. marner is and always will be a far superior player which is why he has never missed the playoffs and tkachuk has never made it

If we’re just making stuff up - I’ll state Brady does not make the playoffs until he demands and gets a trade out if Ottawa - I’ve said it many times, the core in Ottawa is just not good enough, especially in a stacked division

It’s funny cuz Marner isn’t taking a pay cut. If we go off the cap % of his last deal he’s somewhere around 12.5 . He gets anywhere between 12.5 and 13

They just gave Nylander 11.5 per so ya - They might be lucky to only give him $13m with increased cap in 2 years…
