Yzerman has only signed one deal for over 5 years. That probably doesn't get Buch.

Yeah but lets not sit here and act like theres been many players that deserve 6+ years. Cat you could argue but I have no issues with that and thats it. Do we think Raymond/Seider dont get that just due to his pedigree here? cause they're the players that are worthy of the years IMO

I dont know what exactly gets you Buch, hard player to judge value. You could argue the 2 should be a 1 and I would probably still do that as Detroit.

Yzerman doesn't sign non-core players to long deals. I believe he would (And absolutely should) get Seider and Raymond at 8 years if they're willing.

They're core players, and this is the last year of the cap freeze before it skyrockets. I'd rather sign both at market value or maybe even a little above now, than sign either to a bridge deal and have to pay them at 25 or 26 years old with a cap around $95M - $100M.

I completely agree and Id be shocked if Yzerman doesnt have a likewise thought process. You pay seider 8 right now or you wait 4 years and pay him 11 cause thats market value. strikes me as a no brainer.

Starting price is going to be 2 firsts according Armstrong Via J. Rutherford. I imagine thats without retention and assuming there are teams trying to outbid the other.

Also it has to be the right value, since he isn't a pending UFA and there isn't any pressure to trade him. I would think that would move the Blues make has to have a piece with a quality chance of becoming a top 4 D.

I'd be shocked if Seider signed an 8 year deal for only $8M. Lowest I can see at 8 years is if they can convince him to match Larkin at $8.7M.

People should probably brace themselves that anything under $10M at max term for Seider is a major win. I'd like to see $9M, but I'm not gonna lose any sleep over more than that. The cap is likely getting 5% max hikes for the next 3-5 years at least. That puts us at $100M+ by year 4, where he's hitting his prime years at 10% of the cap.

Just a few things. I'm sure the Blues would be open to taking Fabbri back if there's a deal around Buch. The Buch deal you have listed isn't appealing at all for the Blues. But you could pretty easily rework it to include both.

Fabbri + 1st + 2nd 25 + Wallinder would be a pretty good base. I'm not sure if adding Berggren is too much there or not, he's not really a huge need for the Blues with Bolduc up, Snuggerud probably up at the end of the year, and possibly Dvorsky making the team next season (unlikely). That's just too much youth on a roster trying to find a direction. I'm not sure we'd be too open to taking back Matta, would depend on if we can move Krug/if we are re-signing Perunovich. Cap isn't the issue there it's moreso the blocking of ice time for youth.

Hawks won’t pay for Fabbri, he is too fragile.

Nah, that's not a start at all. Most likely, it starts with Wallinder. Starts with. We've only just begun... as of right now, he is not on the market. Folks are gonna need to beat the "shelf price" to convince Army to give him up. Coz he does not wanna.

Throw out your fancy comps and your value calculators, people. This is not an auction item. Thank you. Please tip your waitress.

You'd have to pay to send Fabbri to CHI, and it would be significantly more than a 4th.
