I wouldn't say he's being favored long term, but Nashville knows what they have and they're carefully weighing their options and seeing what happens. They won't let Saros go before Askarov is ready without a good payment. And they won't rush Askarov to the NHL to make sure he develops properly.

Apparently last year a the draft, Nashville offered Montreal Askarov + 15th for 5th overall.

It might have actually been the 24th overall and not the 15th but something like that was offered
