No TB isn't giving up it's best Rd for a guy who'd be a 3 LD or force Cooper to play Sergachev on the right side which Cooper hates doing. (Playing guys on their off hand) Easy pass.

The value is good in the deal, but Tampa Bay probably declines. Cernak is their best defensive D man. They need that more than another offensive minded LD. And Tampa Bay probably can't afford Mitts's new contract anyway.

Samuelsson isn't Offensive Minded. When Healthy which he hasn't been all year, he's a good Defensive D that can play both sides in your Top 4

Thanks. Good to know. Still think Tampa declines. Cooper doesn't like playing D men on their off side unless he has to. And even if Samuelsson is a good fit, Bolts still probably won't be able to afford Mitts. Curious if what your saying about Samuelsson is true, why does Buffalo make this deal?

Because Cernak brings things we could desperately use and we have a few LD in the waiting that can play both sides to.

That is a HUGE over pay, thank you for rejecting it!

What is this obsession that Sabres fans with Cernak.
He is a dirty right handed inferior version of Samaulsson.
Dirty, I guess all of the Sabre fans have short memories and forgot the vicious elbows he delivered to Dahlin and Okposo!
For these alone, I do not want him in the Sabre locker room.

Just a quick snap shot of Erik and Mattias:
:................. hits/60 blk/60 5v5 xGF/60 5v5 xGA/60 CF%
Erik............8.2........4.8.......2.37..............2.6..............48.9
Mattias......7.6........6.2......2.6.................2.48............51.8
Erik has a slight edge on hits/60 but he trails Mattias in all of the other important catagories.
Let me add, Erik's xGA/60 and CF% are worse or second worse among all TB defensemen and he is paid $1,000,000 per year than Mattias.

All things considered, I would not do Mattias for Erik, much less add Casey and an early second.

Didn't say I would do the trade, just my thoughts on Samuelsson
