I'd rather have Batherson at his cap than Laine at 6 million
Boston doesn't do that
And Ottawa blocks the blues number if they offered that trade to them

Norris is a huge gamble. I don't think the bruins would be willing to take it.

Why is he a huge gamble?

he's in the 2nd year of a massive contract and isn't playing well. He's playing like a $4-5M player and getting paid $8M

Blues decline, Kyrous value is not a first off from Brady and even if it is regardless they aren’t adding that much more.

Blues aren’t trading Neighbors and certainly not for Chycrun atm. They have to trade one of Leddy or Krug first

I thought you were going to say his injuries. Not playing well though is a strange one. Given the shoulder injury I could see that being a concern but he can score and you need a centre.

We desperately need a young RHD. Boqvist is a bit of a risk but it’s one worth taking. The same is true of Laine who obviously has all the shooting talent you can want if he can get himself back together.

At Chychrun’s cheap cap hit you could move Krug and Leddy down while still keeping them. That assume though you’re trading Buch.

do the bruins need a center? their centers seem to be doing okay right now, and that's with poitras on LTIR.

In a nutshell, the guy signed the ticket after putting up 35 goals in 60ish games. he looked like a legit sniper. Since signing the massive deal, he hasn't repeated that. At this juncture, there's at the very least a strong possibility that the season was an outlier, and he won't be worth that contract. that's the gamble.

He had shoulder surgery. That’s the main reason for the drop off. It’s not that he forgot how to score. Now the shoulder surgery is a long term concern though.

I see your POV. But Ottawa can easily get a great right handed top 4 d-man u26 for batherson alone. Get the logic but it is WAY to high risk for the reward

we don't know that. maybe the season was just an outlier. that happens. it's not like he has some huge history of popping 30 goal seasons. he's got the one. then he got hurt and now he's not scoring at anywhere near the same rate. like i said, it's a gamble.

Blues would consider Kyrou and and maybe something of lesser value for Tkachuk, but not interested in the Stenberg and Neighbours for Chychrun.

he was on pace for 51 points before his unfortunate encounter with the center post of the net, coming off missing an entire year do to shoulder surgery, when you miss and entire year, it takes time to get back into the rhythm.

try finding another 60+ point top line RW that is 25 making less than 5M... making a hole to fill a hole still leaves you with a hole

on pace for 51 points isn't worth $8M. The bruins have Coyle whos a way more complete player, a legit center, and is on pace for 65-70 points at $5.25M. Zacha had 57 last year as a strong two way player at $4.5M
