Canucks would still need cap space to do this in all honesty. Depends if Soucy stays on LTIR or not

Or if they'd able to move Mikheyev (to WSH?) for a pick

Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking - if they move ilya without bringing cap back in that trade, i can see them bringing in tarasenko maybe even without retention

Nashville needs scoring up front so i dont see any interest in Chychrun.... plus watching him im really not impressed with his defense.

duh, a 3rd pair Dman and a 3rd liner and a 1st in the late teens early 20s isn't a good return for chych. does not even help to adress OTTs need for a top line RHD

Of course, I agree - just needs to make sure van has enough cap space to bring in tarasenko even with retention

Why? I don’t think it fits any needs other than replacing a goalie

What’s the max the Sharks are going to get for Kahkonen? A 3rd? In this deal the Sharks buy low on a goalie who only has 1 more year left after this at a low cap hit. Maybe he has a bounce back year next year (he’d been decent prior to this year) and the Sharks can flip him for more assets. If not, well the deal is over.

In Brännström they get a former top prospect who’s still pretty young and has even played some wing this year, so he’s got some versatility and could be a decent reclamation project.

They also get a 5th which really isn’t that different from what Kahkonen is probably worth, a 3rd.

Tarasenko could be a good piece for Vancouver. However, I don't think they'd do that deal since management have said they won't be trading a 1st for a rental.
