Roslovic and Rachel

Description
I wonder if the "Why do Avs fans think they can get rid of Johansen for anything less than a 2nd?" guy will comment on this.

If Landy comes back (which I'm obviously hoping he does) and RyJo is moved, the most we can spend on another middle six center is 2.5, unless we make a major trade with one of our defenseman.

I think Roslovic would be a good target, coming off a down year, playing with some really good wingers in a better situation than CBJ.

That's the reason one of the Avs D is almost certainly moved in the off season. You're right on the RyJo cost to move imo though. Especially come the off season.

According to PuckPedia the salary cap relief for RyJo at the TDL is pick #33

Yeah everyone loves puckpedia but I simply don't buy it. That's just statisticians wanting to quantify everything, with little actual outside data like production factored in.

Habs don't need RyJo, they won't add him to their roster this year and next only for a late 3rd

I just picked the Habs, could be any team. I also don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for RyJo to have good playoff production this year and raise his trade value. He has a higher career PPG in the playoffs (.80 vs .64 in the regular season).

Yeah everyone seems so sure of this but what they don't factor in is that puckpedia only accounts for a standard cap dump in a vacuum. Pure net negative. It takes nothing into account of how a GM might view any of RyJo's abilities, for example a team that needs a particular strength such as a veteran who wins face offs (one of the very reasons the Avs added him and which he has delivered on). They also aren't necessarily adding him this year in this scenario. This is a roster for next year so one can easily expect the trade is done off-season. I'm not saying it would be the Habs necessarily, you can argue that one all you like. I simply don't buy the cost to move RyJo as being that high.

Personally I'm happy for the Avs to keep him this year and see how he goes in the play offs. Better that than pay more assets to move him and then move even more assets to acquire someone else who may be an equal gamble. He may come into his own there as the game style changes. He also may get the opportunity to play with the two wings he was likely intended to play with at some point soon. The Avs coaching staff (plus injuries/PAP) haven't done a great job of putting him in a position to succeed and imo he's starting to show some flashes here and there and I wonder how much the achilles surgery he was recovering from has hampered him. Easy to say 'I'm 100%' to start the year but finding form again with a new team is another matter on top, plus they could make other moves this year without moving RyJo necessarily.

Roslovic is a much better winger than center because he has a double digit hockey IQ.

Colorado would probably need to add on a bit cause of RoJo having one more year on his contract but I would love to see this trade
