I was just thinking Kane, Bourgs and the 2024 1st to the Blues for Buchy

Would imagine Kane denies the trade. Can't imagine the Blues would like the trade anyways.

He's been unhappy with playing time for a bit, but that would complicate it. If the blues want to trade him (why????) I doubt they get an offer better than this. Definitely could get a higher pick or prospect, but not both AND a viable top 6 guy

No way Kane waives to go to the states, and we should not trade him anyway. He’s that type of guy that you would want come playoff time. Trading him now would make no sense. Now correct me Blues fans if I am wrong, but I would imagine they would not want Bourgault, instead they would want Broberg. Now, I know they have Lindstein whom they just drafted, but don’t really have any young NHL defenders with possible top 4 potential in the NHL currently. Give Broberg a guy like Parayko for example to play with, and I think he improves significantly!

I've always been skeptical of Bourgs, there's always been the "what if" side that comes up, like what if he becomes the perfect right hand shot or pass the Oilers need on draisaitl's wing? I think Bourgs will come out and play hockey next season, and if he's lined up with Draisaitl, I think he'd just make 50 or 60 points as a rookie, that'd be great at starting his career man

He would add to the long list of guys that we'd be trying to phase out of the lineup for the younger guys to come in. It complicates more than it helps, not to mention he has a NMC and we pretty much wont have a say in what to be able to do with him. I don't really see a reason for the Blues to target Borgault either. I could see Akey being a target, but we are already in a position where we need to explore moving forward prospects for defensive prospects.

You are on track. Broberg is still young, but his development path is a development path that generally ends in the player going overseas to play. I would put his value at a 3rd, and considering what happened recently with Vitali Kravstov which was a fairly similar situation, that's pretty generous.

Yah it’s tricky with him. Given an actual chance to play, he could grow a lot more. Of course it wouldn’t be just Broberg. There would be more added on, but I would think Broberg would be a good target for the Blues.

Issue is where do we give him playing time? We have Leddy and Krug signed. Perunovich has to play pretty much every game for the rest of the season or he enters into UFA status at the end of the season, which probably isn’t the end of the world at this point but it’s still something. We also have Scandella, unless we move him. I’d imagine they could force feed him ice time. But it would signal they’re cutting ties with Perunovich

Yah that’s true. Personally, I would say cut ties with Perunovich, as Broberg is a lot younger, and I’ve never personally been a fan of him. With Leddy, Krug on the left that makes it a bit more challenging. No way you can move one of them out as their contracts are so big! I would say maybe try one of them on the right side, but that would mean not having Tucker on the roster, which that is really up to if you like him that much, or think he is that good to have over Broberg. I just can’t see any other Oilers prospects they would want, as well as Holland being willing to move them.

Yeah I think they’re getting more than a 2nd round pick 3 drafts out… and considering Dowd is one of the best defensive forwards in the league under contract for two seasons, yes he should get a first.

Only in my personal opinion, Broberg's not for sale, I'd rather wait out Broberg's development than give up on him right away.

I would be happy with Akey over Broberg
