I don’t think Philly and Chicago are both going to do you a solid while also giving up two strong rentals for a mere 1st, 3rd and your unwanted Ceci

Tanev went for a 2nd and long shot prospect. What the hell you talking about doing a solid. That is a massive price. Chicago took Beauvilier for nada that makes 3 times the money with the retention.

Oilers are giving up their entire draft capital and their best D prospect lmao if you think they arent paying through the nose

CHI needed bodies because of the mountain of injuries they were dealing with, and Beauvillier was playing pretty well at that time. That trade is not comparable.

Hawks don't need retention on Cici. What they need is a 3rd to take him off the Oilers hands. And the Hawks traded for Beau because their forward group was decimated by injuries.

I don't think it was due to injuries. They terminated Perry contract at that exact time, I think it was more to pay a salary for cap floor reasons. Teams have to pay so much, Perry $4mil gets axed and Beau at $4.5mil comes in. Very ironic. And yes they did have lot of injuries at that time also.

The Hawks were still almost $3m above the cap floor after terminating Perry's contract. The Beau acquisition was 90% due to injuries in the forward group, 10% trying to find a little more offensive punch.

Perry’s termination was a minor factor, at one point they had eight guys out the lineup dealing with injuries. Forwards alone they were missing Hall, Athanasiou, Blackwell, Anderson, TJ, Raddysh from the lineup when they acquired Beauvillier. shortly after making the trade for him, he hurt his wrist and then Bedard and Foligno got hurt… so yes they were desperate for bodies which is why the Hawks were forced to give up a 5th round pick for Beauvillier, a conditional 7th round pick for Pitlick and grabbed Sanford off of waivers.

This was proposed by Thomas Drance and there is a million excuses you can name, they needlessly took Beauvilier and have overpaid Mzarek, Dickinson, etc. They ned bodies next season, nothing to do with injuries. Thats an excuse.
The whole point of retention would be to make Ceci an attractive trade piece at next years TDL when players like Ilya Lyubushkin just got a 3rd and he's God awful

"Needlessly took" Beau? Hawks had Hall, Anthanasou, Raddysh, Blackwell and Tyler Johnson all out w/ injuries, and had just terminated Perry's contract. They were woefully short of healthy forwards at the time of that trade.

As for next year, the Hawks will need bodies - in their forward group. Not on their blue line. Jones and Murphy are locked in on the right side. As for 3rd pair, Hawks have Nolan Allen and Louis Crevier as young prospects. And they'll likely re-sign Megna to a new deal. So can't see why the Hawks just take Ceci for free and gift the Oilers precious cap space.

You know it is ok to admit you no very little to nothing about the Hawks instead of posting garbage like this and making it painfully obvious for all to see.
