Think Ottawa just takes a RD with there pick this year than trade Brady for one.

kinda still need 2 RD, no ? Let'S say you have Reinbacher + PArekh you are set up for years and years with probably the best defense in the league in 2-3 years.

Sanderson/Parekh
Chabot/Reinbacher

Tkachuk being a UFA in 4 season from now is a problem for montreal, him being a winger is a problem too... you're asking price is reasonable but montreal may not be able to afford it at this point in the rebuild

They have Zub who is a real solid defensive #4 and pairs well with Chabot! I’d keep Brady and run:

Sanderson-Parekh
Chabot-Zub

Think this is real solid and then Kleven on the 3rd pair with someone else like Hakanpaa in Dallas. Gives them size and skill throughout the lineup! I feel the sens biggest need on D (besides a top pair RD) is net clearing, physical Dmen that can play the PK well. Right now it’s Branny, Hamonic and JBD and well, we’ve seen the result lol

I see REninbacher as that though, but Montreal has too many D-men like that in strubble, Ghule, Xhekaj.

I also understand your point on Zub, but I did not think he was that good top lead a second pair

I like Reinbacher, he’s really good and will likely be a top pair guy! I see him as similar to Sanderson stylistically, good feet, smart IQ. Don’t think habs move him anyway as I think they want to pair him with Hutson, which could form quite the dynamic pair! Zub is really underrated, probably doesn’t lead a 2nd pair, but pairing him with an offensive D like Chabot lets Chabot be a little more creative with Zub holding down the dzone. Best way to explain Zub, you barely hear about him, and I know +/- isn’t the greatest stat, he’s been a positive player his entire tenure with Ottawa and they have been less than stellar lol he’s just so solid defensively, rarely is out of position or chasing and provides enough offense to warrant a #4 spot! He’s honestly the only D I could say that about on Ottawa

Kent Hughes says yes, then hangs up so fast before Ottawa has time to come to their senses.
