Selling and Buying

Created by: KennyBoi
Team: 2023-24 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 29, 2024
Published: Mar. 1, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just brainstorming.

EDM retains their top picks for a potential D upgrade trade, while upgrading their forward depth without having to dump salary. Shouldn't be hard for EDM to get the hometown kid extended.

BOS betting on a change of scenery will help Holloway.

Love the idea of taking a flier on a guy like Beau. Buy low guy. Worst comes to worst he gives you JDBs production. I’m all for trading DeBrusk back home. I would still like to add a Right shot Dman tho without trading a first.

Hawks probably accept. They might want the '24 4th instead though

Why so low? I'm assuming it would cost a lot more for DeBrusk. I would do this in a heartbeat too, and like you said, it wouldn't be hard to sign him to an extention i don't think, because he is from Edmonton, gets to play with Draisaitl, and his father Loui DeBrusk is in Edmonton too!

not sure what edmontons draft stock is but I'd much prefer a top 3 pick from this years draft for JDB, his production is low right now but they should still be able to get a decent return especially considering retention

I think Edmonton needs to add a second round pick or a prospect like Savoie to that deal, plus a late round pick to whomever they bring in to help retain.

I wasn't too sure how much EDM fans value Holloway right now. Figured most would be hesitant on moving him considering his age and draft position. But I guess EDM fans are more willing to move him now for immediate production.

There's no doubt JD will produce a lot more consistently being on a line with McDavid or Drai. Maybe I am selling too low on JD.

Seems like a win win for both teams. EDM doesn't lose much and stays in a good position to make another trade for a Dman while bolstering their forward group to win now. BOS sells on a pending UFA they seem kind of hesitant on extending, and get younger on which was supposed to be a bridge year for BOS.
