The Hawks likely accept, although they may want a 2nd round pick instead of a 3rd. I see this as a similar deal to the Bailey trade Chicago made with the Islanders. They take on the contract for a 2nd round pick then buy him out for the cap hit.

No to Dumbo. Keep RyJo and the pick. Lundell/Byram likely only happens in the off season if at all. Overpay for KK,

I think it takes at least a 2nd round pick to move Johnasen and his $4m cap hit.

Last season just prior to the TDL the Senators gave Chicago a 2nd and 4th round picks to take Zaitsev who had another year remaining on his $4.5m per season contract. Now Zaitsev makes $0.5m more then Johansen but the 2nd round pick the Hawks received was much higher then Colorado’s.

I could see the asking price from Davidson being the same to eat Johansen’s contract; a 2nd and 4th round pick.
