You're trading for a big minute dman not a complimentary piece. Think about this would you accept Rielly with retention and Kampf for a 1rst, 2nd 2 spare parts and a B level prospect? Not saying Larsson is as good but that's the way ya have to look at it.

I mean... You're kind of saying Larsson should be valued like Rielly and not McCabe...

I disagree bc McCabe's more physical and had an extra year... I think McCabe value is fair for Larson but what do I know!

I don't think the McCabe trade is a great template for putting together an offer for Larsson, since McCabe is a more similar to Borgen as a player and Larsson is a clear step above that. I put together my own ACGM the other day where I laid out whether the Kraken will even consider trading Larsson or not and what I think a reasonable comp and hypothetical offer would be, if you want to go check it out: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/4932594

Dear Jazzhandz,

Teams aren’t going to help the leafs. The Kraken aren’t trading Larsson to the Leafs, let alone retaining to do it.

Yours truly,

NHL fan without bias towards either team.

The big issue to me is I think Larsson is more valuable than McCabe. McCabe was getting second pair minutes (19:29/1:59 PK per night) on Chicago before his trade; Larsson is getting clear top-pair minutes (23:09/2:57 PK per night) in Seattle. The cap hit would be the same, but even you clearly value him higher than McCabe based on the deployment you have for both guys in your post-trade depth chart.

I also don't think the value is really here to even match the McCabe trade. While I'll concede there was an extra year of retention, Toronto gave up a 1st & 2nd plus two warm bodies to get back McCabe, two 5ths, and Sam Lafferty (traded for a 5th after 28 total games with the Leafs.) I'd argue that, since Larsson is a more valuable player, I think that there would be more value going back to Seattle in this trade, and I think subbing in Minten or Niemela in place of that 2nd doesn't do that. Kraken would pass on this one.
