Habs accept

No they don't, it's not even close

Ball has negative value to the Habs, we turned down a higher valued asset from Philly than Chase Stillman and the 3rd + 5th doesn't make up difference between the Philly prospect and Stillman. Add to the fact that the Habs don't want to move Xhekaj and it is an easy pass

Askarov trade, sure, but they'll want a primary piece. Offseason send them Schmid and our top 15 1st.

Xhekaj is an AHL plug. Pass

Fair price on Tkachuk. Ottawa passes tho

Not paying that for Chych

Fair price on miller

Fair price on toffoli, LAK might not be interested in moving Laferriere

Way too much for the Hanifin and Markstrom package.

I have no idea what O'Brian and Bjugstad cost.

I’m really impress by Bahl. He is a better Struble and I value Struble higher than Xhekaj

NJD would not move Bahl for Xhekaj though. Xhekaj unfortunately cannot kill penalties at all. Meaning you can't stick him into a lineup with Luke Hughes unless you're planning to keep brendan smith around at forward. In which case just play Smith instead of Xhekaj. If he was a forward and could be hidden sure. But you can't hide Xhekaj as a dman

Bahl isn't better than Struble and Wifi has a more important role than both of them. Bahl makes more than both of them and would still be pushed out of Montreal when Guhle, Hutson and Xhekaj are our top 3 LD, add to the fact that we still have Matheson and Harris now, with Engstrom coming, trading for a LHD is just stupid at this point

Bahl as a negative value asset lol. He's a 23 year old 6 foot 6 NHL dman playing at a higher level than any of Barron Xhekaj or Harris. and a fully buriable contract. If he played for the Habs you'd be trying to sell him for multiple 1sts

I'd do it, no way nashville would.

If NJDs 1st is 12th overall for example tho, coupled with another young goalie (either daws or Schmid), and then maybe a sweetener, I think that would be a fair offer.

Bahl is really really good. He is a better defensively Struble. Sure, his contract makes him less valuable than Struble, but more than Xhekaj. Xhekaj is really good and I would hate him against us but he won’t realistically be more than a #5

I’d still be hesitant to accept that. You can count on one hand the elite goalies in the league, this guy is going to be one of them.

Same offer would be out there then for Saros today. If it's the offseason then it depends on what the extension looks like.

I don't think any goalie prospect is a sure thing. Carter Hart, Mackenzie Blackwood, Spencer Knight were supposed to be off the top of my head.

Has he been killing in the AHL because the problem is he only has 20 total minutes on the kill at the NHL level? No sample size to trust.

Call us about guys like Guhle, Montembault, and Evans. Heck I'd offer NJDs next 3 1sts+Bahl as a starting point. (2 in 2024, 1 of which comes from selling Toffoli)

1st+1st+Bahl for Guhle+3rd
1st for Montembault
3rd for Evans

That's a real fix, and one that doesn't decimate our cap

Xhekaj in the ahl was like Faber in the nhl this year. He was dominant everywhere.

In the nhl, it’s normal if he doesn’t get a lot of minutes since he is always in the box and we have Kovacevic, Savard, Harris, Struble and Guhle who are all VERY dominant defensively

As for the package above, it’s fair value, but no way are we doing that. Guhle is currently our safest top 4 option. There is only 5 players on the Devils I would trade him for : Jack Hughes, Hischier, Bratt, Nemec and Mercer. So unless there is Mercer coming back, we aren’t trading him. So yeah, no Guhle since the chance of Mercer being available is pretty low

Montembeault is our goalie of the future, or at least our starter until Fowler/Volhokin/Dobes breakout. We aren’t trading him

As for Evans, we aren’t trading him unless there is a MASSIVE overpay. I’m not even sure a second would do it. He is excellent everywhere with sone underrated hands. He is our long term 4c

Absolutely fair that you wouldn't do that. Those guys are very good (hence why I'd want them), with a pretty hefty package. Mercer+2nd+Bahl for the package would be my alternative, but not sure you view mercer as THAT high. And of course trades that massive would never happen in the real NHL, but fun to talk about

Mercer, second and Bahl is very interesting. I would give Guhle and Calgary’s first for Mercer. So I would maybe do that.

Monty + Guhle for Mercer+ second
Evans for Bahl

Yeah, I probably would do it, even if it would be pretty heart wrenching as I love those players
